My Story

I started designing hats in 2012 when I worked for an independent ladies accessories boutique. The shop specialized in co- ordinating shoes, bags and hats with our customers’ outfits for weddings, Royal Ascot and many other special occasions. During this time I gained invaluable experience in customer service and how a hat is a truly fabulous finishing touch to a special outfit. I also learned that absolutely everyone can wear a hat (many people think hats just don’t suit them), it’s a question of finding the right shape, style, size and colour for each individual. When you get these elements right you end up with a customer who looks and feels a million dollars and who goes off to their event with complete confidence.

I have completed numerous training courses with many of the UK’s top milliners including Jane Taylor, Ian Bennett, Bridget Bailey, Dillon Wallwork, Denise Innes Spencer, Judy Bentinck and Jenny Roberts.

I create one-off and bespoke headwear for both special occasions and bridal. My pieces are handmade and unique so you definitely won’t bump into anybody wearing the same hat! You can either buy an ‘off the peg’ piece or I can work with you to design a piece from scratch to compliment your outfit. I make beautiful bridal hair accessories using beading and other techniques to create a truly special finishing touch to a bride’s outfit.

I work from home near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and you can visit me there to try on a variety of headpieces or I can work with you via Zoom, etc. to ensure you have your perfect hat. Using this kind of remote consultation it is possible for me to work with clients worldwide.

“Some hats can only be worn if you’re willing to be jaunty, to set them at an angle and to walk beneath them with a spring in your stride as if you’re only a step away from dancing.”
Neil Gaiman

“A hat is the difference in being dressed and being dressed up; it is the difference between looking adequate and looking your best. A hat is to be stylish in, to glow under, to flirt beneath, to make all others seem jealous over.”
